He served as a supervisor (South Zone)in the Central Public Works Department, Government of India, for 38 years. He was very actively involved in AITUC as an Additional Secretary of the CPWD Worker Union. He conducted numerous free health awareness programs in North Chennai. As a registered RHMP medical practitioner, he provided free medicines to underprivileged women and children. He conducted free typewriting courses for 10th-pass candidates, free tailoring training for women, and sales and marketing training for unemployed youth
